Green Peapod: Authentic Thai Delights in McHenry, IL

This was by far the best Thai I've had in the area or maybe ever. Everything was super fresh and so flavorful. The service is impeccable, our server was so friendly and knowledgeable. True hidden gem, can't wait to come back and try more dishes.

WOW. All I have to say is, amazing. We hosted an event here, with 40 people and not only was the food amazing, per usual, they were able to get us in and out in under an hour and a half. We knew we were asking a lot with 40 people, trying to host the event between 11:45AM-1:00PM but they were so amazing and not a disappointment in quality. They were even able to break it up into separate checks (as we know this is not ideal it was a networking function). THANK YOU so much. Such an amazing add to McHenry IL

Great place! I agree with some of the reviews and the food is a bit sweet, but extremely tasty. Grilled calamari could be grilled/charred a bit more and the film could’ve been removed, but the spices/taste is amazing. Pod Thai is amazing just like Pad See Ew. Definitely a place to stop by for food.

I had a very nice experience here. I loved the atmosphere here. Very nice and cozy. I enjoyed the appetizers and the rice. I tried the cashew meal when going here. I though their was a bit to much sauce but the food itself was perfect. I loved the peppers and pineapple that was on it! U get a cute little sign if you get a reservation!

Good food, great service, high prices. Green Peapod is a friendly Thai Restaurant serving good Thai food in a friendly atmosphere at prices that are a bit high. But the food is very good and cooked/served by real Thai people. We were seated right away, even though the restaurant was very busy. Tea came right away. Eggroll appetizer arrived within 10 minutes. Rest of the dishes arrived by 20 minutes. Server was friendly and helpful in assisting us in choosing dishes we liked. We were a little surprised by the noise level, but it quieted down, once the restaurant started to empty out. The restaurant is small and tables are close together. Our bill for 2 adults was $87+, NOT including the tip. Recommend, if you can afford.

We’ve been coming here for over a year and it’s always great. Today they made Bao which I haven’t seen them make before. They’re so good and the custard filled ones have cute animal faces. Please make these permanent!

I have been coming here almost weekly and now crave it all the time. The food is always hot and tasty. The staff is always friendly, even when it's busy. The prices are fair for the current economy. I've yet to experience any flaws afyer over a dozen visits.

Absolutely delicious food. Very fresh and beautifully presented. They accommodate substitutions or requests, which is appreciated. Service is very nice and friendly. Restaurant is clean with relaxing atmosphere. Best Pad Thai ever!
